Piedmont Park is for the dogs, or is it?

kismet here. i hope everybody had a grrrrreat weekend! we did! saturday mommy and diddy took us to piedmont park dog park. the small dog area. as much as i think i’m a big dog, i only weigh 26 pounds. (ugh- pound— i HATE that word!)

the off-leash dog park is nice, but it is new and there isn’t much shade except for 1 or 2 trees, and it tends to stay real muddy under them. the small dog park is just that. small. but since dogs have to be under 30 pounds (there’s that awful word again–i came from the pound), it seems big enough for them. there is water available, thank goodness, but just a pump. i’d really like to be able to swimmie, but i guess that’s asking a lot.

the big dog area is lots bigger, with more shade, but mommy’s afraid to let us in there. she saw 2 dogs really going at it, fighting, once, and it scared her. she’s very over-protective of us, because of what happened to her other dogs, sophie and quiche.

i met a real cute weiner-dog and we played a lot. well, we sniffed a lot. round and round in circles we went, i loved smelling the weiner. dog. the wiener-dog.
(if you like weiner dogs, you’ll enjoy youdidwhatwithyourweiner.)

mommy forgot to take pictures, tho. bad mommy! she promised she’d take us back for more pictures real soon.

diddy did, however, get a good picture of mommy and us sitting up above the new legacy fountain. the fountain is beautiful, but dogs aren’t allowed in that area. i think it’s because kids run and scream and stuff, and that kind of horse play makes some doggies nippy. like roxie. she nips kids and other dogs when she “herds” them. i tell her that’s rude, but does she listen???? nooooooooo!!!!

piedmont park has gone through some wonderful renovations over the past several years. you really should come by. and bring your furkid!

  1. Awesome that you ran into a weiner dog. Sounds like a pretty good park but it’s too bad the small dog area isnn’t bigger. Thanks so much for the shout out.

  2. Thanks for posting about Piedmont Park – we love finding places we can visit with Gus when we travel. 😀

We always keep Gus in the small dog area. He’s an anxious dog and we feel more comfortable keeping him amongst doggers his own size.
