Ripoff! Deception! Scam!

Robbery

GRRRRRRR….

While checking our online credit card statement this weekend, HK asked me what the $12.00 charge to “Reservatin Rewards” was for.   Hmmmm….Not a clue.  So he scrolled back to the previous month’s charges, and lo and behold, there it was again.

“Oh, That…I thought that was a credit to our card,” I reasoned. We have one of those cards that gives you cash back on purchases. After all, it was “Reservation REWARDS.”

I called the # listed on the charge. After 10 minutes of punching in numbers to an automated machine, I finally got a human. He was in another country, but a human, nonetheless. After much circle-talking, he told me that RR is an opt out program, so it is basically automatically added to your account. I also found out that it was Shutterfly that had sold me out to these creeps.

Shutterfly was even harder to pinpoint, and after a long and tedious process online, I finally got my complaint registered, only to get a form letter back, describing the merits of RR and how they have had a successful partnership with them. Following more research, I found that over 140 companies will sell your credit card info to RR, including Orbits, Ticketmaster and Moviephone.

The pisser, besides being violated, I mean, is that you’re unknowingly signed up for this scam that is supposed to save you money, but since you don’t know that, you can’t possibly know how or when to use it.  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Read the Ripoff Report to find out more and how to get your money back.

So keep your eyes open, peeps, and watch your ass-somebody’s looking to screw you, too.

  1. Yeah, and here’s a tip. If someone says “Can I send you a package in the mail so you can review the program” BEWARE. This is some form of agreement — in Canada anyway. I ended up on some credit card identity protection program with a monthly charge on my card. I had to call someplace in Florida to get rid of it and it took HOURS of my time. I mean I only said okay mail it to me to get the people off the damn phone!

  2. I think we should offer these crooks an opt out option as well… from living much longer if they keep this crap up. Other than that, I’m sure these offshore companies are very nice. 🙂
