Planning Ahead, Doggy Style

kizzy here…
wow! things are really moving along here in preparation for the “Big Trip”! after our trial-run camping trip to alabama last week, we decided i might need a little help in the hiking department.
since I’m a senior dog (somewhere between 13 and 14,) i am starting to get arthritis in my front leg, just like mommy in her shoulder. OUCH! except mommy had sug, serg, surgu, mommy had an operation on her shoulder, and it made it worse!

anyway, i can ususlly go a couple of miles before i start to limp a little, even though i still want to keep hiking. (i love love love the hiking thing–i’ve been doing it all my life!) so mommy and diddy made me a really cool backpack out of one of their old suitcase/backpacks. they filled it with a foam pillow and an air pillow to make me more comfy, so i think i kinda like it.

actually, mommy wanted to buy me a real dog carrier, but at 26 lbs, it’s hard to find them big enuf, and diddy is real fug, frg, frugul, he’s real cheap. so this is what i have. what do you think? do you have any suggestions to make a great dog carrier?

  1. I think your family of five will be very comfortable in your “pop-up cave on wheels”!!! Mommy, you look great in front of our (your) camper. Looking forward to future blogs!!

  2. Chester and Gretel are only 8 and 13 lbs so I can tuck them into a small pack I wear like a baby sling on the front if I need to. What you put together looks great for a bigger dog…..adn then Kizzy doesn’t have to stare at your face the whole time you are hiking 🙂
