Ok, my husband, Jeff, whom I lovingly refer to as “honeykins”, and I have just returned from the “Tour Du Mont Blanc,” a 120 mile trek through Italy, Switzerland and France. So now I am home, unpacked, and almost recovered from the dreaded but unavoidable airline respiratory crud that I always get when on a plane for over 2 hours. I’ve put this off for 2 months now, so it’s time to get off my ass and start my blog.

Why a blog? Well, for starters, it keeps me from having to sit down and write that travel book I’ve been sorta-working-on, I’m writing now, aren’t i? That has to count for SOMETHING…

But also because for a couple of years now, certain friends have been bugging me to put on paper the recipes of some of the goodies I make when cooking for them. ” Jules, you have to write a cookbook,” they bug me. So I looked into self-publishing one, but that was WAAAYYY too involved, not to mention expensive, and with the economy in total SHIT right now, I need to reserve what cash I have for essentials like a new pair of boots (one of my many weaknesses).

So that, in a nutshell, is why I’m starting my blog. Because I’m cheap and lazy. Goodnight for now.

  10. Nice thing happened this morning, A good (conservative) friend of ours from Maine was picking Jack up for golf. I knew he had wanted McCain/beyond the palin and I told him I was sorry, sort of. Well, he had heard Obama’s press conference yesterday and had already started to feel hopeful about the coming administration. YES!
